A hat-trick from David Williams dented the Newcastle Jets' A-League finals hopes as Wellington Phoenix run out 4-1 winners. Tony Popovic was anything but concerned after Perth Glory's loss to Melbourne Victory on Saturday, given their lead at the top of the A-League and having played in front of a record home crowd. Had Popovic felt his team was outplayed in the 2-0 defeat to the champions at HBF Park in front of 17,856 people it might have been a different story.
